Timber:
American White Oak, Prime Grade, Parquet 320mm x 80mm x 19mm
Details:
Wellington builder Denis Morgan wanted something unique in the new kitchen of his Brooklyn villa. After a number of discussions and reviewing some samples he settled on parquet pieces in American White Oak, at a piece size of 320mm long by 80mm wide.
American White Oak makes great parquet flooring – the contrasting grain pattern helps to ensure that the individual pieces don’t get merged as if they were one solid piece of flooring.
Denis laid the parquet over a particleboard substrate using Selleys Liquid Nails Direct Stick flooring adhesive.
The floor was finished with three coats of moisture-cured polyurethane.
Unique Aspects:
Parquet flooring doesn’t start or stop, and there’s no need to decide if the flooring should run down or across the room.
Client Comment:
A great result – very pleased with the parquet flooring.
