Pacific Matai, 128mm x 19mm
Our clients were extending a Petone dwelling that dated back to the early 1900s. The floor in the original part of the house was NZ Matai. They wanted to continue with real timber into the extension area, but the budget wouldn’t cover NZ Matai. The step down between the existing and new allowed for the transition between the NZ Matai and the Pacific Matai.
We also built a step from NZ Matai.
The floor was finished with moisture-cured polyurethane, top coat Satin.
Our clients wanted a hard wearing real wooden floor that would look authentic against the existing old Matai floor.
