Baluster posts in recycled Oregon, the handrail and step nosings in Jarrah, the feature wall in Oregon panelling, and the exterior panelling in Pacific Jarrah.

Details
The Z Energy offices occupy a modern building on an old wharf, surrounded by a mix of older character buildings, older modernised buildings and modern buildings.

HMA architects, acting for the building owner, wanted a ‘rustic wharf look’ for the baluster posts. We manufactured the baluster posts from recycled Oregon beams, the recycled character was enhanced with black filler, and the posts were coated with polyurethane. We fitted the baluster posts to black-coated steel frames, using large counter-sunk black bolts.

We produced and fitted the handrail in Jarrah, factory coated with a two-pot polyurethane.

We manufactured the stairs and stair nosings. The stair nosings were made in hard-wearing Jarrah to match the handrail.

The feature wall is lined with Oregon panels.  Precise fitting was required, as anything out of line would stand out when viewed across the larger, two-story high wall.

The exterior panelling was profiled in our Upper Hutt workshop from 300mm x 40mm Pacific Jarrah.

Unique Aspects:
The recycled Oregon baluster posts worked brilliantly against the Oregon feature wall and blended the wharf environment and modern office perfectly.
